Keynsham Repair Cafe ran its first repair event in September 2019, and 2023 has been the first year that we've run every month!

The Keynsham Repair Cafe volunteer team meet every 2nd Saturday of the month, at the same time as Keynsham Farmers' Market, and run a two hour free of charge repair session. You can usually find us in the Baptist Church on the High Street - everyone is welcome to pop in and see what we get up to. There is no need to "book", just turn up with your broken thing, and all the "bits" it needs to make it work. We open at 10 - the sooner you arrive the greater the chance we'll be able to take a look! We usually call "last orders" between 11:30 and 11:45, so that we can finish up and clear the room on time.

December 2023 saw our 27th session, and the volunteer repair team looked at a lot of lamps, Christmas decorations and torches, plus a soup maker, radio, clock, mechnanical typewriter and sports bag.

The stats for 2023 are very positive - of the 281 things we looked at in the 12 Repair Cafe's, supported by 105 "volunteer sessions", we fixed 59% of the items on the first visit, gave advice for 22% of the items, and could not fix just 19%.

The vast majority of the items, 67%, continue to be electrical or electronic - and we fix the majority of these!

Thank you to all of our volunteers who have supported and got involved in the Keynsham Repair Cafe in 2023, and for everyone that has brought something along for us to look at - we couldn't do it without YOU!

The team look forward to helping fix your broken household things next year! Toasters, lamps, radios, toys....... did you know we also fix small repairs to clothing? We can even take a look at more unusual things like musical instruments and small upholstery repairs. If in doubt drop us an email, and we can give you advice before you bring something in.

In 2024, together, let's fix this!
